SLS stands for Selective Laser Sintering. It is a rapid prototyping method using plastic powder which is melted to form parts directly from 3D CAD data. The finished parts are very durable and are able to withstand real world testing. The materials used are nearly identical what would be used in mass production.
We use the 3D Systems Sinterstation Pro 230 to create fully functional parts directly from your CAD data.
This is the largest machine in the world with a build envelope of 550mm X 550mm X 750mm or 21.65" x 21.65" x 29.53".
Our standard material is DuraForm HST Composite, a glass fiber filled nylon. This is an excellent choice for applications that require high strength and temperature resistance. We have other SLS materials available:
DuraForm FR100, a flame retardant plastic for aerospace
DuraForm PP100, a plastic with polypropylene properties
DuraForm EX, available natural or black color
DuraForm PA, pure nylon - flexible, great for living hinges
